bi0space at Ecomondo 2026 – Digital Product Passports for circular industries: from policy to implementation

On 3 November 2026, bi0space will take part in Ecomondo 2026 in Rimini with a dedicated event exploring how Digital Product Passports can support the transition towards more circular, transparent and interoperable industrial value chains.

From 3 to 6 November 2026, Ecomondo will bring together companies, researchers, institutions and other key stakeholders working on the green and circular transition.

As part of the programme, bi0space will host the event “Digital Product Passports for circular industries: from policy to implementation”, organised by project partner UNI – Italian Standards Body.

Digital Product Passports for circular industries: from policy to implementation

Ecomondo, Rimini – Sala Noce
Event language: English

Digital Product Passports are becoming an increasingly important element of the European circular economy framework. As regulatory requirements continue to evolve, industries face the challenge of transforming data into reliable, interoperable and usable information that can be share across Compex value chains.

This is also at the core of the bi0space. The project is developing a new generation of Industry 4.0-enhanced Digital Product Passports connected to a Circular Economy Dataspace, enabling the secure and trustworthy exchange of sustainability and circularity information for bio-based products and supporting greater transparency, traceability and interoperability throughout their value chains.

The Ecomondo session will bring together representatives from industry, research, policy and standardisation to discuss the transition from the emerging European DPP policy framework towards practical implementation.

The discussion will address:

  • the evolution of the European framework for Digital Product Passports;
  • the role of data spaces and interoperability in DPP implementation;
  • experiences and lessons learned across different industrial sectors;
  • the contribution of standards to the development and uptake of scalable and interoperable DPP solutions;
  • practical approaches to measuring sustainability and circularity performance.

A dedicated roundtable, “From policy to action”, will provide an opportunity to compare perspectives from different stakeholders and discuss the main challenges and opportunities related to the deployment of Digital Product Passports.

From research to practical applications

The final part of the event will feature a poster session, where researchers will present experiences and results related to Digital Product Passport data spaces, sector-specific DPP applications – with particular attention to bio-based industries – and approaches for measuring circularity.

The session will provide an opportunity to connect the research and technological developments taking place within bi0space with the wider European discussion on DPP implementation and interoperability.

The event will conclude with a networking aperitif, offering participants the opportunity to continue the discussion and connect with representatives from the bi0space community and other organisations working on digitalisation and the circular economy.

Join us in Rimini on 3 November and discover how bi0space is contributing to the next generation of Digital Product Passports for circular and sustainable bio-based industries.
